Dial up connections are very slow as compared to the faster Internet connections provided by the Broadband services. As a result, most of the dial up service providers have decided to increase the speed of the dial up connections by tweaking the system.
Most of the internet sevice providers have shortened the handshaking protocol and they have enabled the compression of images that are transferred through the Internet. All these methods have resulted in providing the public with a faster dial up connection, than the one that was previously available.
